Heroes

Stella, a young Great Pyrenees not even two years old, enjoyed a life of contentment on a sprawling 35-acre mountain property. Surrounded by a loving family, her days were filled with simple joys and unwavering affection. However, this idyllic existence was shattered when tragedy struck unexpectedly. Becky, Stella's beloved human companion, received a devastating diagnosis: terminal brain cancer. The news sent shockwaves through the family, and Becky was swiftly airlifted to a distant hospital several hours away.

Life as they knew it changed drastically. The family was consumed by worry and grief, their focus shifting to Becky's care and the uncertain future. Amidst this turmoil, another unexpected development arose: Stella was pregnant. The situation seemed overwhelming, but a glimmer of hope emerged when Dr-V stepped in to offer their assistance and resources.

With Dr-V's support, Stella received the care she needed, and on July 11th, 2024, she gave birth to eight healthy puppies. The arrival of the puppies brought a sense of joy and renewal amidst the ongoing heartache.

Becky's battle with cancer continued, but her spirit remained unbroken. Despite the physical and emotional toll of her illness, she faced each day with strength, joy, and unwavering faith. Her creativity, radiant smile, kind heart, and adventurous spirit shone through, inspiring those around her. Sadly, in January 2025, Becky passed away. Her loss was deeply felt by all who knew her.

Becky's legacy, however, lives on. Her memory is carried forward by Stella and her puppies, a living testament to the love and joy she brought into the world. Furthermore, Becky's courageous spirit and unwavering optimism will be immortalized in the upcoming Dr-V comic book, "Dr-V: A Last Stand For New Life." In this comic, set to be released in the summer of 2025, Becky is portrayed as a heroine, a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Through this poignant tribute, Becky's story will continue to inspire and uplift readers for years to come.

She and Ali spend much of the day wrestling and have a favorite toy that they play tug of war with.  Over the past few months, Stella has reached a healthy weight and has developed her thick winter coat.
